About The
Kagawa Museum
The Kagawa Museum is a general history and art museum located where Takamatsu Castle once stood. The culturally and historically significant area is by the Seto Inland Sea (the north side of the city), and it is possible to see Yashima in the distance to the east. The Museum is divided by theme into multiple areas, including a history exhibition room dedicated to the history of Kagawa, a Kukai exhibition room that explores the life and achievements of Kukai, also known as Kobo Daishi, and a room for 20th-century art and artists that are closely connected to Kagawa, such as world-renowned sculptor Isamu Noguchi. The majority of the exhibits are owned by the Museum.
