East entrance

East entrance

This museum was built in a place where Takamatsu Castle’s Higashinomaru bailey once stood. Its east entrance, which faces Ferry-dori, is on the east end of the old central moat. To enter the building through the east entrance, you need to walk over the moat-like water feature by the stone walls. The stone walls were unearthed during the construction of the museum, and the tops of the walls were reconstructed to match the height of the original walls.
