Permanent Exhibition Rooms 4 and 5
A collection of calligraphy primarily by calligraphers related to Kagawa Prefecture.
Calligraphy was selected as a candidate item to be placed on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage list. A variety of works of calligraphy, the art of writing Chinese and Japanese characters using brushes, inks, paper and inkstones, are displayed. Some emulate the traditional styles of famous calligraphers of the past, while others are avant-garde, boldly conveying passion. Admire the contemporary calligraphy owned by the Museum.
